Construction along the LEAP megasite
Lebanon's growth now centres on the LEAP Research and Innovation District, a megasite of more than 9,000 acres being carved out of Boone County farmland along what the state calls its I-65 Hard Tech Corridor. Eli Lilly broke ground in 2023 on a 600-acre campus bounded by County Road 450 North, I-65 to the west and CSX tracks to the east, a $2.1 billion project built around 12 buildings and more than 1.6 million square feet that was expected to need up to 1,500 construction workers while it was built. Meta began its own phase of a 1,500-acre, 15-building data centre campus west of I-65 and south of State Road 32 in 2025, an initial $800 million commitment the company says could grow past $4 billion.
Clearing and building a megasite like LEAP leaves heavy equipment, materials and fencing spread across acres overnight and on weekends, much of it unwatched. Lebanon's own exposure isn't new: in May 2023, a string of vehicle break-ins swept through the city overnight and included an unmarked Boone County Sheriff's Office vehicle, from which investigators said a firearm was taken. A construction corridor the size of LEAP multiplies that kind of overnight opportunity many times over.
Construction sites inside LEAP don't go unwatched with Sigma on the cameras: an agent is looking at every feed, every hour, all year. A person crossing a fence line after the crews leave trips an AI alert, the agent confirms it on live video and gives a live, instant talk-down through the speakers, then calls police with clips ready to send. As different phases open, agents can also run a gate for scheduled deliveries and log who passed through.

FAQ
Lebanon, Indiana monitoring questions
Can you watch a jobsite inside the LEAP district?
Yes. Because a megasite like LEAP has long stretches with no one around, especially overnight and on weekends, agents keep every camera on a site live the whole time, 365 days a year. Anyone who crosses into a fenced-off area trips an AI alert, and the agent on duty confirms it on video before giving a live, instant talk-down and calling police.
Can agents handle deliveries at a gated construction site near Lebanon?
Yes. As phases of a site open and close, an agent can staff the gate itself: checking a delivery against your schedule over the speakers, opening the gate remotely once it matches, and logging the time and an image of the vehicle. That record is useful on a site where crews and subcontractors change from one phase to the next.
We don't have power or internet out at our Lebanon site yet. Does that matter?
It does; monitoring depends on your site's own power and internet connection, which is the site's responsibility to provide. Once that's in place, Sigma's technicians come out to install the cameras and speakers a laydown yard or jobsite needs, and compatible cameras already on site, if any, are checked for a fit rather than replaced outright.
How do I get started?
Request a free site assessment or call (209) 900-5884 ext 2. A Sigma specialist reviews your layout, existing cameras and risks, then recommends the right coverage, at no cost and with no obligation. Every quote costs less than a 24/7 guard.
