Remote monitoring for Plainfield distribution yards

Live agents watch the warehouse yards along I-70 and Ronald Reagan Parkway around the clock, talk down intruders, run the gate for expected trucks and check trailers on video.

Local and live

Plainfield's warehouse district by the airport

Plainfield, in Hendricks County just west of Indianapolis, is a warehouse town. Site Selection magazine reported in 2024 that it holds 50 million square feet of industrial warehouse space, with easy access to I-70 and a 10-minute drive to Indianapolis International Airport. Its developer describes AllPoints Midwest as 950 acres planned for more than 13 million square feet of bulk distribution space, with its entrance on Ronald Reagan Parkway two miles from I-70. New speculative buildings keep coming, such as a 474,858-square-foot warehouse at Camby Road and SR 267 (Quaker Boulevard).

That much freight in one place draws organized thieves. In January 2026, a federal judge in the Southern District of Indiana sentenced six members of a ring that watched distribution facilities in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, followed tractor-trailers as they left, and stole the entire rig when a driver stopped to rest, refuel or park. The group carried out at least 14 cargo thefts. For a yard that stages loaded trailers overnight or between shifts, that means someone should be watching the fence line and the gate live, not just recording them.

Sigma's agents watch a Plainfield yard remotely around the clock, including weekends and holidays. They see each arrival at the gate, speak to drivers through the site's speakers and open the gate for expected trucks. Between arrivals they run yard checks on video: damage inspections, visual seal checks and parking reports that show where each trailer sits. Anyone who shouldn't be there gets a live, instant talk-down, and incidents go to police with video evidence.

On the record: Indiana State Police said in July 2026 that its Commercial Vehicle Enforcement troopers had recovered about 12 semi-trailer loads of stolen cargo since April 2026, valued at more than $11 million, across north-central, central and south-central Indiana. FAQ

Plainfield monitoring questions

Can Sigma check trailers in our Plainfield truck court?

Yes. Agents run yard checks on video: damage inspections, visual seal checks and parking reports that show which trailers are where. You get a record you can share when a load arrives or leaves.

Can your agents handle our gate between shifts?

Yes. Agents see each arrival on camera, speak to the driver through the site's speakers and open the gate remotely for expected trucks. The gate and its hardware stay yours; Sigma's agents operate it.

How does setup work when Sigma isn't based in Indiana?

Monitoring is remote, so it works anywhere your site has an internet connection. In a free site assessment, a Sigma specialist reviews your layout and any cameras you already have. Many compatible cameras can be connected, and Sigma's technicians come out to install any cameras and speakers your site needs. You provide the power, internet and gate.
