Remote yard and equipment monitoring in Prince George
Live agents and AI cameras watch Prince George truck terminals, forestry equipment yards and warehouses around the clock, at the junction of Highways 16 and 97.
Local and live
Where Highway 16 meets Highway 97 and the CN line
Prince George sits at the junction of the east-west Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) and the north-south Highway 97, and Invest Prince George credits that crossing with giving trucking firms cost savings on fuel and reduced congestion reaching regional markets. CN runs a transcontinental line through the city and has expanded its distribution centre here to handle growing container traffic bound for Asian markets, and Prince George Airport has the fifth-longest runway in Canada at 11,450 feet, with international cargo capability. Invest Prince George also counts a transportation labour pool of about 22,000 people in the surrounding area, built up around trucking, rail and the sawmills and pulp mills that still process the region's spruce and pine.
Forestry and construction equipment is a frequent target. Shortly before 2 a.m. on April 28, 2025, thieves broke into a sea can at a jobsite in the 1100 block of Foothills Boulevard and took laser mapping equipment, tools and rebar cutting equipment worth nearly $80,000, one of four break-ins RCMP later linked together. Further out of town, someone cut a harvester head off a piece of logging machinery on the Beaver Forest Service Road sometime between December 23, 2025, and January 2, 2026, along with hand tools and radios, in a loss the equipment's owner put at tens of thousands of dollars. For a yard or jobsite holding heavy equipment, the exposure is highest once the crew has left for the day.
Sigma watches Prince George yards and jobsites the same way it watches sites farther south: live agents on every camera, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with AI person and vehicle detection flagging anyone who shouldn't be there. An agent checks the alert on live video, gives a live, instant talk-down through the site's speakers, and calls police or your own contacts, with video clips and a written report to follow. Yard Operations adds truck and trailer damage inspections and parking reports for fleets running the Highway 16 and 97 corridors.

FAQ
Prince George monitoring questions
Can you monitor a jobsite or yard near the Highway 16 and 97 junction?
Yes. Agents watch every camera on the property live, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, no matter how far north the site is. AI person and vehicle detection flags anyone on site after hours, and the agent verifies it on video, gives a live, instant talk-down through the site's speakers and calls police and your contacts.
Can an agent check drivers in and out of our Prince George truck terminal?
Yes. Gate Operations agents see each truck pull up, speak with the driver through the gate speakers, check them against your rules, schedules or pickup lists and open the gate remotely. A time-stamped image is saved for every entry and exit.
Sigma is based in Ontario. Can you still set up a site this far north?
Yes. Monitoring is done remotely and works anywhere with a solid internet connection. Sigma's technicians travel to Prince George to install the cameras and speakers, and many compatible cameras already on a property can be connected too. What the site needs to supply is the power, the internet connection and the gate.
How do I get started?
